In 1976, a young star outfielder for the Boston Red Sox named Jim Rice was scheduled to give a pregame radio interview to Clif Keane, an old-time Boston sportswriter. Rice kept Keane waiting while he shagged flies for an extended period of time, hoping perhaps that Keane would simply disappear. When Rice finally came in from the field, Keane was livid and let Rice have it.
